Clementine’s Play Therapy

Nurturing connection, regulation and growth through play

Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) is an evidence-based form of therapy for children. CCPT allows children to express themselves and make sense of their experiences through play.

Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) is a developmentally responsive approach that gives children the opportunity to explore and work through their experiences through play.

Play is a child’s natural way of communicating, making sense of the world and expressing experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words. In the playroom, children are given the freedom to choose from a range of sensory, creative and expressive resources, allowing them to communicate and explore in ways that feel natural to them.

Through a safe, accepting and therapeutic relationship, children can develop new ways of understanding themselves, expressing their emotions and responding to the world around them.

Child-Centred Play Therapy is internationally recognised as a therapeutic intervention for children and is an evidence-based form of child counselling.

What is Child-Centred Play Therapy?

“In a child’s world of play, toys are their words and play is their language’”

BA | PG Dip | ANZAPT | Registered Teacher | Play Therapist Intern, Child Play Works

Kia ora, I’m Clementine,

Originally from the UK, I moved to Wānaka in 2017 and feel very fortunate to now call it home. Outside of my work, I love being in the outdoors; whether that’s ski touring, hiking or staying in a hut.

I have many years of experience working with children across education settings, with a background in early childhood education. It was through this work that my interest in children’s emotional wellbeing and development grew.

I am passionate about understanding children and what sits beneath their behaviour, while supporting parents to feel more confident, connected and empowered in their relationships with their children.

I am currently completing my training with Child Play Works and am a registered member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Play Therapists (ANZAPT).

Through play therapy, I offer a safe, accepting space where children can be themselves, express what they are experiencing and grow through the therapeutic relationship.

Meet Clementine

How can Child-Centred Play Therapy help my child?
